Our Community
Delivering comfort means more than just filling tanks with oil or tuning up a burner. It means helping others, and giving our time and effort to make others feel happy, healthy and well cared for. For these reasons, we at Plainville Oil have strong ties with the community. We are involved in many community activities and charitable causes and are proud to deliver true comfort to our Connecticut friends and neighbors.
The Plainville Community Food Pantry
We are currently developing a program with the Plainville Community Food Pantry to help local families in need. For every $10 donation made to the Plainville Food Pantry OR for every full grocery bag of nonperishable food you drop off, we will put a gallon of fuel in one of our trucks. When the truck fills to capacity (that's 2,500 gallons), we will donate the oil to families in our area who can't otherwise afford to keep warm this winter. Please give what you can - the more you give, the more fuel we deliver. For complete information, please give Plainville Oil a call at (860) 793-1239 or contact us. We also sponsor the Plainville Oil softball team that plays in Norton Park against local businesses like FireHouse Bar & Grill, Varillio Contractors and Central Cafe. This past season, we had 6 wins and 11 losses, but are hoping for a comeback in 2012. All funds raised from league play go to charity.Plainville Oil Donates 2,500 Gallons of Home Heating Oil
Plainville Oil is proud to announce that it has donated 2,500 gallons of home heating oil to local families in need. Plainville Oil worked with the Plainville Community Food Pantry, matching donations of food or money with a gallon of oil."We put one gallon of oil in a special truck for every $10 or full grocery bag donated. When the tank was filled to its 2,500 gallon capacity, we donated it all to local families who are having trouble with their home heating bills," said Nick Scata, president of Plainville Oil. "We are a part of this community, and are happy to help our neighbors."
